Minutes 1-15-2011

The most recent meeting of MOOD was held Jan. 15, 2011 at Franco's in Dover, De. We had 33 members in attendance.

The meeting started out with a "thank you" to all preceding officers and a welcoming to the new officers of 2011.

A detailed treasurer's report was given including expenses and our current balance. It was announced that our dues of $25.00 are due now.

The purchase of club jackets was discussed. There were a couple of styles and colors presented. No conclusion as to style and color was reached except that the jackets must have a male and female version.

Rich presented possible business cards that he designed. This will be researched as to prices of having them printed.

Many future events were discussed. The following were expressed as favorites:

1. Photo rally. Richard explained the concept of the photo rally. Ann Weisman had previously suggested that this be a benefit for "Women Supporting Women." Richard will check to see if this group would be willing to man the check points along the drive. Dean and Debbie have graciously volunteered to have a barbecue afterward. (date to be announced)
2. Eagle Festival. This event will be held on March 12 at the Black Water Refuge with lunch afterward at "Old Salty's Restaurant." Sandy and Rich will be heading this event.
3. Tech Day at Preston Mazda, May 14, 2011. It was also suggested that a drive to Suicide Bridge and dinner be the conclusion of the day. The drive and dinner were undecided at this meeting.
4. Bay to the Beach Drive. This will be held on Sept. 10, 2011. (details to follow).
5. Pork in the Park. This car show will be held on April 17, 2011. Fred announced that the car show will be organized the old way (the same as the first year we attended).
6. Upper Chesapeake Winery Tour. Charles will head this event with details to come.
7. Bloxom Winery Festival. (details to follow).
8. Wings and Wheels. Georgetown, Delaware (date to be announced ASAP).

Other events suggested but not voted on yet were:

1. Sports car event in Philadelphia. It was suggested that we join other clubs for this event.
2. Antique Aircraft Fly In. This event is held in Cambridge.
3. Longwood Gardens Tour. It was suggested that this could possibly be an overnight event.
4. Miatas at Myrtle Beach. This will be held from March 24-27. Information is on the website.
5. Grand Prix. This is held in Baltimore.
6. Rehoboth Beach Car Show. No date has been set as of yet.

Richard presented many door prizes donated by Mazda.

The next meeting will be held at DiNovas in Ocean Pines, Maryland, on February 19th, 2011 at 12:00 Noon. What a great group we have!
