Minutes 1-16-2010

The meeting of the 21 members present was called to order by President, Richard Lloyd. Richard expressed his appreciation and thanks for the thoughts and wishes he received during his recent surgeries and convalescence.

The following activities for 2010 were discussed:

• Fred Ludwig is looking into finalizing details for a Beach to the Bay run from Ocean City to Rock Hall with a proposed date of September 11th.
• A March meeting will be planned to be held at Annies at Kent Island.
• The Bloxom Wine Festival was discussed and there was some doubt that it would be held this year. The festival is still advertised on the Bloxom web site for the third Saturday in August.
• Jo-Anna Sparta (a new member along with her new copper red Miata) will begin making plans for a tech event at Preston, tentatively to be held May 15th.
• Fred Ludwig proposed a February meeting at DeNovo's in Ocean Pines. It was agreed to be held at 1:00 PM on February 20th.
• It was generally agreed to leave open the possibility of participation in the Pork in the Park event held at Winter Park in Salisbury April 16 - 18, 2010.
• Other events discussed for further consideration were:
  • The Salisbury Spring Festival in May.
  • The Nanticoke River Festival in July.
  • A Georgetown to St. Michaels run in April or ?????
  • Making the Dogfish Head meeting an annual event for around November.
  • A Christmas Party at Marie and Paul Weisbrod's home.
  • A run in May to visit the Strasburg, Va., Miata Owners.

It was agreed to pay the entry fee for Kathy Mumford's Art Program event as the sponsor for potential MOOD public relations.

Fred Ludwig introduced new members Sheryl and Dave Suiter.

Jo-Anna Sparta gave a presentation on Preston Motor's abilities and provided information on MOOD member special pricing for service and other advantages.

Richard adjourned the meeting.
