MCLA Minutes - September 11, 2007

1. The September 11, 2007 meeting of the MCLA Board commenced at approximately 8:00 a.m.
2. The following individuals were in attendance:
   Harry Baumohl
   Stacey Andersen
   Ali Doyle
   Mary Stengel
3. The following agenda topics were discussed:
   
   1. Training: 31 people registered so far. Many are from out of the immediate vicinity and a number from mental health fields.
   2. Advertising: Stacey working on advertising strategically to get coverage over time and with the most visibility under our budget: 9/12 Patuxent Newspapers; Urbanite in November; Billboard at and of January; more print media in the works. Stacey will follow up on Marc Steiner project with Jim in the hope that MCLA can be featured and before the end of the year.
   3. Harry presented draft of update to membership to let everyone know what the board has been doing. Harry to send the update via email and hard copy.
   4. Stacey to contact Baltimore City Bar Association about the possibility of making a brown bag presentation to the bar.
   5. Harry will contact the speaker’s bureau at the various bar associations about getting CL on the list of topics.
   6. Discussion of training requirements for members and engaging in CL practice with those who are not trained.
