Maryland Collaborative Law Association

MCLA Minutes - May 24, 2006

Present at today's meeting were Michael F., Harry, Jim Motsay and myself.

  1. We again reviewed the membership list and made final changes. We also called members who have not paid their dues, giving them one last opportunity to pay and stay on the roster. Meg A. will be sending in her dues. Michael will be meeting with the printer today (Michael-we also need to update the roster on the web site). Michael will price print runs of 5,000, 7,500 & 10, 0000. Michael will decided how many to order.
  2. Michael also made suggested changes to the brochure. He proposed to change "lawyer" to "attorney" (based on public perception which hold attorneys at a higher level than lawyers) and referring to Collaborative Family Law to CFL (as it will result in the brochures being less wordy)
  3. We would like to have something to give out at next week's dinner. Harry will try to locate one of Liz Ferris's handouts for distribution. Susan-are we able to hand out the power point presentation?
  4. The brochures will be available for the MSBA Convention next month. Susan-will we have access to a table?
  5. Jim will contact IACP about a license to purchase and distribute their materials.
  6. Michael also disused the idea of a tag line "passion for trust, justice and families".
  7. We will not have our morning meeting next Wednesday. We will meet 30 minutes before the dinner.
  8. Reminder-our meeting on June 7, 2006, will take place in Panara's which is on Reisterstown Road, just north of the beltway. Does 8am work for everyone? Once the time is finalized, Michael will send an email inviting any interested members to join us. If there is an abundance of members wanting to attend, I'll need to contact Panara to make sure then can accommodate a group. If its just the normal crew, I think we are ok.
