MCLA Minutes - November 28, 2006

Present at the meeting were Michael Freilich, President, Ali Doyle, Harry Baumohl, Jim Motsay, and Marc Baer.

The following items were reviewed and discussed by the board:

  1. The applications for membership of Clara Bareston and Geoffrey Platnick were approved. The new members' information will be added to the website and they will each be mailed a packet of brochures. Ali will follow up with a phone call to invite them to the Holiday Party. SUSAN, DO YOU HAVE THE EXTRA CDS TO SEND TO THE NEW MEMBERS?
  2. Jim reported that the IACP will be sending new data forms for us to review.
  3. Michael announced that the Bylaws and Articles of Incorporation will be posted on the website.
  4. Ali submitted the list of those who have paid for Holiday Dinner. Jim expects to have Stew Webb's book, which will be given to members attending the holiday party. All other members will receive a copy at a later date.
  5. Jim has several articles to be posted on the website in the upcoming month. He will send an e-mail to the members for future article submissions.
  6. Next came a discussion regarding the position of Secretary. Jim will send an e-mail to the membership seeking any interest in serving as Secretary for the remainder of this term and to be re-nominated in May, 2007. The Secretary will be responsible to keep the minutes, organizational records, and communication with membership and public.
  7. A discussion on a container to store MCLA items was tabled until the next meeting.
  8. The Board agreed to buy a Barnes and Noble gift card for Greg Pickett. In addition, Greg will be invited as our guest to the holiday party.
  9. Michael announced that he will be meeting with Anthony Parente on November 29, 2007 to discuss possible promotion of MCLA.
  10. Michael announced a meeting of the public awareness committee consisting of himself, Harry and Jim. The committee will meet on November 29, 2007.
  11. Next came discussion about the Howard County group, who according to Ali, has been very successful in obtaining cases. Harry suggested that our leadership meet with the Howard County leadership to discuss possible strategy and collaboration.
