MCLA Minutes - May 3, 2006

Here's a recap of today's meeting attended by Michael, Harry & myself):

1. MCLA will be one of the sponsors of the Maryland Mediator's Convention, which will be held in December. Sponsorship requires that we promote the Convention, offer to volunteer, and as of right now, a voluntary monetary contribution. We can also have a half table for approximately $25.00 or whole table for $50.00. Michael will also like to be a presenter, and will submit a proposal. If anyone wants to join Michael, let him know.
2. Ali-we want you to go ahead with the May 31st dinner. If you haven't got last year's announcement, let me know and I'll try to dig it up. The meeting should also announce the new officers and board members. I will ask Michael Mastracci if he would like to join the Board. The announcement should also include a thank you for those who attended the Liz Ferris Workshop. Finally the notice should give everyone a last change to correct their contact information.
3. Craig-Please circulate the must current list.
4. In follow up to our workshop with Liz, we need to find therapist/counselor groups where we can put on a presentation. I contact the wife of a client who is a family therapist for some information. I will report back, but in the meantime, please check with your referral sources.
5. We really need to have better attendance at our meetings. Any suggestions? Are we meeting too often? Is 8am a bad time? Let's see how we can restructure this to make it easier for all.
6. As to Jim Motsay, Michael has arranged a meeting. I understand Craig has also contacted Jim.
