MCLA Minutes - August 7, 2006

The MCLA Board of Directors met on August 7, 2006. In attendance were Michael Frellich, Marc Baer, Harry Baumohl, Ali Doyle, Michael Mastracci and Jim Motsay.

  1. The brochures and rosters were put together in sets of 200, and are ready to be disseminated among the members. With the exception of members outside the metropolitan Baltimore area, members will be notified to pick up the brochures from Michael's office.
  2. Jim reported that the crab feast is set for August 29, 2006 from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The cost will be $40.00 per person. There was some discussion about bringing spouses and guests. Jim will send an e-mail to the membership to get a tentative count.
  3. Ali reported about the Annapolis training, which is tentatively scheduled for November 3-4, 2006. She has been in contact with the Country Inn and Suites. The room rental will run $700.00 and continental breakfast will run $6.50 per person per day. Lunch will also be provided. Ali indicated that she will look for alternative locations outside of Annapolis as well as the Judicial Conference Center.
  4. Michael reported that Susan will produce signs for the library presentations.
  5. Ali reported that she would follow up with Towson University concerning an intern.
  6. Marc reported that he will edit one of the collaborative law articles into three parts, and forward it to Susan for inclusion on the website.
  7. Ali reported that the Howard County training, scheduled for September 15-16, 2006 is looking for sponsorships. It was suggested that MCLA might contribute $150.00-200.00 provided that the brochure and rosters were included as part of the bounded printed materials, and that we have an opportunity to speak during one of the lunches and distribute membership applications.
  8. The next meeting is scheduled to take place on August 15, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. at Michael's office.
