Rockfield, built in 1921, features "Praire Style" architecture designed by Baltimore architect, Alfred Cookman Leach. The exterior is constructed of stone from the building site. Rockfield is surrounded by rolling lawns, stately trees, a walking path and beautiful gardens. The property also includes a bank barn which will house the craft and garden boutique and a caretaker's cottage which showcases art by the Harford Artist's Association. The Town of Bel Air purchased the home and 5.4 acres in 1996 and it is now used for meeting, wedding and social event venues.

Rockfield Manor provides 19 indoor and outdoor spaces to be decorated by area designers in harmony with the original style of the house. Decorators generously donate their time and materials to this worthwhile effort and are sure to create a spectacular experience for the visitors. Many of the accessories and furnishings will be for sale. Visitors are invited to enjoy lunch by the fountain and new patio. McShane's Gourmet is providing a variety of box lunches. After lunch visitors will want to visit the craft and garden boutique, visit the artist's cottage or walk on the lovely grounds.

The Decorators' Show House Gala Preview Party is Friday, September 6 at Rockfield from 6 - 11 pm. Guests will be the first to visit the newly decorated areas and can enjoy hors d'oeuvres and cocktails on the patio with music by Jon Sobus. Laurrapin of Havre de grace is catering dinner followed by desserts by Ellie Doyle of "Your Day Gourmet." Guests are invited to dance to music provided by the band, WherezDave.
