Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the function of Chesapeake Cancer Alliance and where does the money go that you raise?

A: The CCA partners with Upper Chesapeake Health to provide support for cancer initiatives. The CCA is dedicated to raising funds to benefit cancer patients here in Harford County. All of the money raised by our events, projects, and corporate and business partnerships goes to support the Cancer LifeNet program at Upper Chesapeake Health. Funds raised also go to the Cancer LifeNet supportive care program at Upper Chesapeake Health and the Upper Chesapeake Cancer Center and Breast Institute (to be completed December 2013).

Q: What is the Cancer LifeNet?

A: It is a support network that works to help people face the challenges of living with cancer by providing information, education and support. All classes, groups, and services are free of charge and are available to all residents of Harford County who have been diagnosed with cancer regardless of where they receive their treatment.

Q: How can I become a member?

A: There is a membership application on our website. Go to the Membership section. If you cannot download the application, you may call our Membership Chairperson at 410-838-2114 and an application will be sent to you.

Q: When are the meetings?

A: Our meetings are held monthly on the third Tuesday. We have morning and evening meetings. There are meetings throughout the month for project committee and event coordination.

Q: How can I find information about future scheduled events for your organization?

A: We do include a Calendar of Events on our website. We also publicize all of our fundraisers in the local newspaper and in Upper Chesapeake Health publications, such as the HealthLink, Cornerstone and Navigator.

Q: Do you have a mailing list?

A: CCA keeps records with addresses of those who are interested in hearing about our projects and fundraisers. If you would like to be on our mailing list, please email CCA with your request and we would be happy to include you.

Q: How can I become a vendor at a CCA event?

A: We are always on the look out for vendors for our event boutiques. Tell us about your business and we'll contact you when the need arises. You can email us at cca@chesapeakecanceralliance.org.
